Principle of Atobuster
Atobuster is constructed with a copper exterior and a special alloy core with PTFE lining.
Using galvanic action, sacrificial anode technology, and zinc ion generation, it helps remove and prevent limescale, bacteria, scale, rust formation, and leaks, while extending the lifespan of household piping.
- What is the Galvanic Effect?
- When two different metals with different properties are immersed in water or come into contact within an electrolyte, the metal with the lower electrode potential corrodes faster (oxidizes first). This phenomenon is called the galvanic effect.
A common example is the generation of electricity in batteries using this principle.
- What is the Sacrificial Anode Method?
- This concept is related to the galvanic effect. While galvanic corrosion refers to unwanted corrosion, the sacrificial anode method uses that principle beneficially to solve corrosion problems.

Product Mechanism
Mechanism of Biofilm Formation, Bacterial Growth, and Removal
Biofilm (slime) is formed when organic matter, microorganisms, colloidal particles, and other contaminants adhere to pipe walls through electrostatic attraction. This biofilm becomes a breeding ground for bacteria and microbial growth.
When water passes through Jinhaeng RSI, zinc from the device reacts with dissolved oxygen in water, while hydroxide ions combine to form highly active compounds.
These active compounds help break down organic matter and contaminants that make up biofilm, while preventing them from attaching to pipe surfaces again.
In addition, zinc ions generated inside Jinhaeng RSI react with oxygen to produce trace amounts of hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂). The active oxygen from hydrogen peroxide helps decompose organic pollutants in the water and suppress bacterial activity.

Rust is formed when iron reacts with water and oxygen through oxidation, producing iron oxide (Fe₂O₃), commonly known as rust.
Because zinc (Zn) has a higher ionization tendency than iron (Fe), zinc oxidizes first before iron. This allows zinc to act as the sacrificial anode, protecting iron as the cathode and helping prevent corrosion.

Spherical Structure
Scale is mainly composed of calcium and magnesium compounds that react with ions in water and form sharp crystalline deposits that strongly adhere to pipe surfaces. (CaCO₃)
When water passes through Jinhaeng RSI, zinc ions (Zn²⁺) generated inside the device act as nuclei around which crystals form.
As a result, the crystal structure changes from sharp deposits to a rounded spherical form that does not easily attach to pipe surfaces. It also reacts with existing carbon dioxide–based scale, helping remove accumulated deposits.
* Ionized scale is converted into minerals and remains dissolved in water, making it safe and fully compliant with drinking water standards.
Mechanism of Pipe Oxidation Prevention and Leak Protection
All types of piping materials lose electrons (e⁻) over time, leading to oxidation (corrosion), which eventually causes damage and leaks.
When water passes through Jinhaeng RSI, iron oxide (Fe₂O₃) is converted into magnetite (Fe₃O₄).
Magnetite forms a stable and dense protective layer on the pipe surface, helping prevent corrosion and leaks while extending pipe lifespan by approximately 2–3 times.
